EVENTS
Dec 19 – Special Olympics Christmas party at the
Gibsons Royal Canadian Legion. Tickets are $18 – dinner
and dance 6pm-10pm. Purchase tickets at the Sunshine
Shack in the Gibsons Community Centre
Dec 7. Monday – Christmas Crafts with Lois – make
and decorate your own Christmas cards and make Santa
napkin holders. Gibsons Community Centre from noon
until 2pm in Room 209B.
NOVEMBER EVENTS
Nov 26, Thursday - Christmas Wreath making –
join Lois Anderson and learn how to make a fresh green
wreath. Gibsons Community Centre Room 209 from noon until
3pm.
OCTOBER EVENTS
October is Community Living Month
A Very Special Thank you to all our sponsors of products for
the Sunshine Shack Kiosk Super Valu for their
on-going support of milk products, fruit, beverages and
muffins IGA for their deli wraps and bottles of water

New Moon Festival
– GFN families are invited to participate and volunteer at
the festival. We will be helping with the recycling at the

- Keep Fit
– join us at the Gibsons Community Centre every Monday and
Friday for circuit training from 10-11am – sponsored by
Special Olympics, Gibsons
Family Network and Coastal Health – a very special thank you
to Brenda Wilkes for coordinating this program for people
with disabilities.

Gibsons at Gibsons Elementary School gym from 6:30-8pm Head

Special Olympics Curling is every Saturday at the Gibsons

Special Olympics Swimming is every Wednesday at the Sechelt
Aquatic Centre from 4:15 to 5:15pm and Saturdays from
4:30-5:30pm in the same location.

@ 10:15 am. Participants will meet by Payne Road (Wendy's) for
assembly before the parade starts at 11:00 am. Please call Pat

Cavalcade Decorating Party
@ 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Community Centre. The theme is SEA-ING
STARS. Please bring your scissors and glue. If you have any

JUNE EVENT
Jun 15 - Annual General Meeting will be held this
year at the Gibsons Community Centre, 700 Park Rod @ 7:15 pm. We
hope you can attend

Special Olympics Banquet will be held at the Gibsons Legion@
6:00 pm. Tickets is sold until Jun 4. Volunteers and coaches

Augusta Grill on February 27th - It was attended by Pat

has been nominated in 2 categories for the Business Awards of
Distinction. We are one of the three finalists in Leadership
Diversity and in Business Mentor.
Feb 22 - 3:00 p.m. Sunday @ the Gibsons Community

AGM. We have some important business to attend to as much was
was accomplished this past year. The Chair's report will
highlight these items. We are looking forward to a good turn-out
of all our members, and please feel free to bring guests along
who may wish to become members. We will also take this
