Gibsons Family Network (GFN) is a non-profit
charitable organization with a
vision of helping people with disabilities to find
meaningful, integrated employment and support within our community.
GFN began as an association of families
living in Gibsons, BC who have a family member or relative
with a developmental disability. The group formed in 2004
and incorporated as a non-profit society in March 2006 in
order to move forward to meet the need for more services on
the Sunshine Coast.
The Sunshine Shack will
continue to operate Monday through Thursday from 10am-2pm
providing healthy snacks and beverages at the Gibsons Community
Centre, 700 Park Road. Gibsons, B.C. Up to 10 young people are
learning employment skills, food safety, and communication
skills while our community is learning about the abilities of
these employees.
Stop by and say Hi to our great
staff and Jeannie our Kiosk Manager.
